In the annals have been classified the Open Days on the business climate in DR-Congo, closed in style on Saturday May 11 with the visit of pupils and students from various horizons of Kinshasa. Organized by the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments - ANAPI, under the patronage of the President of the Republic, these three open days were the opportunity for this technical body of the DR-Congolese government to bring together the various reforming public services in its facilities in order to support the popularization of the reforms undertaken by the DR-Congo to improve the business environment throughout its territory.

The date of Saturday, May 11, 2019, marked the closing of the second edition of the Open Days on the business climate in DR-Congo, launched on Thursday, May 9 by the Deputy Minister of Planning, Zekpele Mo-Ndombe, in the presence various distinguished personalities including the representative of the VPM ai in the Interior, the Dircaba of the President of the Republic in charge of the economy, the vice-governor of Kinshasa, etc.

At the closing, the national deputy Patrick Muyaya and the Minister of Infrastructures and public works, Thomas Luhaka, made the trip to the ANAPI and spoke with the various services having exhibited for the occasion. In addition to these two personalities, pupils and students, coming from various horizons of the capital, also marked their presence at these open days.

They learned about ANAPI’s vision for youth entrepreneurship, rightly seen as the future of a nation. The aim of these lessons was to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit or instinct of young people and revolved around various axes, in particular the presentation and the role of ANAPI in the face of young entrepreneurship, the reasons to develop the entrepreneurial spirit in DR-Congo, the business opportunities to be exploited by young people. After the lessons, there followed very cordial exchanges between the CEO of ANAPI, Anthony Nkinzo, accompanied by the DGA Rose Bokeleale, and the students as well as pupils. Then came the visit of the stands during which the hosts of ANAPI had the privilege of asking all possible questions on the reforms undertaken for the improvement of the business climate as well as on the procedure of business creation largely eased.

Encouraging young people to entrepreneurship: the message from students at ANAPI

"I appreciated this organization and especially the reception by the CEO of ANAPI who gave us enough information on this agency as well as on the reforms undertaken for the promotion of investments in DR-Congo", told AfricaNews Rosine Ngadi, student at the Catholic University of Congo-UCC. And to continue: "Today, I learned all the procedure of creation of company and the way in which the ANAPI accompanies the entrepreneurs until obtaining the financing. While visiting the stands, I talked to the incubators. With all the information I have received, I won’t be confused once I want to start my own business. ”

His colleague from the Academy of Fine Arts, Raphaël Zinga, considered it beneficial to visit, in his personal capacity, in various stands, "because I was ignorant of many things. I received explanations on the procedure to follow to have the necessary documents to launch the business, "he explained, before revealing:" entrepreneurship has interested me since. I work for the transformation of local fruits, baobab in particular, into liqueur. Baobab is ideal when mixed with crème fraîche. In one of the stands, I was told that it is possible to secure your product and avoid hackers. "

In the opinion of this student, entrepreneurship is a good thing for the development of DR-Congo and that it is better for ANAPI to encourage young people to take the path. Etambowa Daphne, a 4th year business student at John Mabuidi College, said that his visit to ANAPI was very informative. "I learned a lot about certain entities that we see from the outside without knowing their purpose and how they work. I personally exchanged with the BCC, the SNEL about their specific work for the development of our country, "she said. Then: "I learned that to be an entrepreneur, you don’t just have to be a foreigner or a great personality. Me too, if I have ideas, I can be an entrepreneur with a workforce and a financial, intellectual and courageous background. "

After being educated on entrepreneurship, Etambowa hinted: "If we promote entrepreneurship among young people, we can bring the DR-Congo to a level not only of emergence but of development".

Create genuine institutional ownership of the reforms

The holding of the second edition of the Open Days on the business climate in DR-Congo took place the day after the presentation and the communication to the World Bank of the reforms carried out and applied by the country of Tshisekedi for sanitation of the business environment. This event was part of the large-scale communication campaign on these various reforms and consisted in putting the reforming state services in front of the beneficiaries in order to generate real institutional ownership of the measures implemented and to stimulate their effective implementation.

During these three open days, the reforming services were available to the public in order to respond to their concerns in great detail on the various measures initiated by the DR-Congo to improve the business environment.
