ANAPI in the city of Kikwit, economic lung of the Province of Kwilu

Thursday 19 September 2019
As part of the execution of its 2019 Action Plan, a delegation from the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments, ANAPI in acronym, led by its Deputy General Manager, Mrs. Rose-Dorée BOKELEALE, organized on August 24, 2019 in Kikwit, in the Province of Kwilu, an awareness-raising and popularization workshop on the reforms implemented at central government level, to improve the business and investment climate in the DRC, for the provincial authorities , the private sector and civil society in Kwilu in general, and Kikwit in particular.
In fact, despite the structural reforms carried out by the central government, the rate of application of the measures implemented at the provincial level remains low, and this is due in particular to the poor communication on the reforms initiated. Also, by the organization of this official mission in this Province, the objective pursued by ANAPI was to: (1) raise awareness, popularize the reforms initiated to improve the business climate, (2) involve public administrations, private sector, and the various stakeholders in the process of improving the business climate to guarantee ownership at the provincial level, (3) communicate on the different opportunities presented by the province of Kwilu on the one hand, and popularize the different forms of government incentives made available to investors to promote entrepreneurship, on the other hand and (4) present the missions and services offered by ANAPI.
Took part in this activity: the Mayor of the City of Kikwit, Provincial Deputies, politico-administrative authorities, the private sector (FEC, Associations of women traders, etc.), public administrations, civil society, as well as Universities and higher institutes of the city.
Note that the Head of State has made the issue of improving the business and investment climate his workhorse, as included in the 20 pillars of the President of the Republic, reflected in the government program, to allow a real blossoming of the private sector, creator of jobs and wealth in order to fight against poverty and boost inclusive development.
As a reminder, the city of Kikwit, with nearly two million inhabitants, has as main activities agriculture, trade and services. It constitutes the pole of attraction of the agricultural products of the Province for their transport towards the city of Kinshasa and the other provinces, thus making trade in agricultural products the most developed activity of the Province.
As the improvement of the business climate is a matter of national interest, it should be noted that the Province of Kwilu is only one stage in this vast awareness and popularization campaign which will spread to the other Provinces of country.
Together, let’s build our country, the DRC!
