A delegation from the Tanzanian bank CRDB Bank, on a prospecting mission, received in audience by the Director General of ANAPI

The Director General of the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANAPI), Mr. Anthony NKINZO Kamole, received in audience this Tuesday October 08, 2019 a delegation from the Tanzanian bank CRDB Bank, led by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Tanzania in the DRC, Lieutenant-General Paul Ignace MELLA. The Tanzanian delegation was composed of Mr. Menard BUCUM, Deputy Managing Director of CDRB Bank; Mr. Alex NGASARU, Director of the Treasury; Ms. Jesca NYACHIRO, Head of Strategy and Investor Relations CDRB; Mrs. Mariama NKAMA, Senior Manager, and Mr. Célestin KAKELE, Head of the Chancellery at the Embassy of Tanzania.

During their visit to ANAPI, HE the Ambassador of Tanzania to the DRC, introducing the delegation, first expressed his country’s interest in the DRC, referring to the Tanzanian companies that already operate on our territory especially in the mining, transport and insurance sectors, particularly in the southern part of the country. He then explained that since ANAPI was the gateway for investors, it was entirely appropriate for the delegation to seek its support in carrying out this prospecting mission.

For his part, the Deputy Director General of CDRB, explained that his group sympathizes with establishing a branch of the CDRB in the DRC. This banking institution is one of the main commercial banks in Tanzania. It is for this reason that she is interested in knowing the investment opportunities in the DRC, and obtaining information relating to the general business environment and investment projects in the priority sectors.

After the words of welcome, the Director General of ANAPI, Mr. Anthony NKINZO Kamole, presented to his distinguished guests the investment opportunities that our country offers, emphasizing the promotion of key sectors with high potential. , carriers of rapid growth and return on investment in the short, medium and long term. The scoop was given to the energy sector, which is the cornerstone of economic development. Projects in the sector were presented, as well as their ramifications both inside the country and across the continent and their impact on the development of the diversification sectors of the Congolese economy.

The Director General of ANAPI also presented the evolution of reforms in the DRC, as well as the facilities and other incentives and protection offered to investors wishing to settle in our country. The delegation expressed its satisfaction at the end of these exchanges and confirmed the installation in the near future of CDRB in the DRC.

The agenda of the CDRB Bank team provides, in addition to visiting the premises of ANAPI, meetings with some members of the Government, the Governor of the Central Bank of Congo, as well as with the Congolese Association of Banks (ACB).
